Former2free bio and intro

oh where to begin i am a born in witness witness mother and father and grandparents though only 2 of the 4. i was born in the early 80’s and immediately my parents faced the blood transfusion issue course in their minds at the time it wasn’t an issue it was not gonna happen.

i don’t wanna go into too much detail but fortunately it worked out well as is evidenced by my writing of this back story.

i had the usual spiritual goals that most witness children have i got baptized at 13 then i started running mics and doing sound and giving more talks.

Apostate - what does the word mean to you?

over a period of time i got to thinking - what does the word 'apostate' mean to me.

having given it some thought, this is my view;.

the org has given the word its own definition and basically use it to demonise people and consider them pariahs.. however, the jw meaning of 'apostate' is a mere word and only has power if recognised as such.

The word apostate at one time scare the crap out of me. Even when I first left I came to realise I was a apostate and had to cope with what that meant to me. My wife keep telling me all I did was to leave my former belief. Now this word means very little to me now except to show how the wt. uses it as a sledge hammer to keep their faithful inline. Words can be powerful tool and the word apostate for the wt. is it biggest gun. Still Totally ADD

How many child molesters do you personally know of in the J.W's?

were are they now and what position are they in.. lets do a running count.. c.o.b.e was interfering with his daughter,d.f,reinstated died in good standing.. branch oveersear multiple young children d.f,reinstated in good standing.. publisher interfeared with small child in the k.h d.f not sure were he is.. publisher sexually abused 3 relatives no action taken in good standing.. current elder raped his sister years ago little action taken was not an elder at the time.. publisher sexualy abused young girl d.f,reinstater now in good standing.. m.s multiple young girls d.f,died trying to get reinstated.. so thats 7.. karter..

I remember talking to a CO about this years as ago and he told me the wt. only knew about five cases. I told him I must know all of those cases. He stop the conversation and walk away. So here is my list.

1. Four elders

2. One teenager male

3. Three men who never served but one did pioneered full time.

4. Three women

This was all central FL except for one which was in central IL. Looking at this list has given me a moment of reflection on how bad it is. The time period is early 1960's to 2009. Still Totally ADD

Healing & Rebuilding Your Life - Feedback Wanted

i have been invited to speak at an international cultic studies association workshop this fall.

i could use your help in focusing on my presentation subject.. these workshops are for former members of any cult or other high-control, authoritarian group, not just jehovah's witnesses.

last year, i spoke at one of their larger conferences in europe.

As was said when you die you become part of the Earth and sense the Earth is a living organism you continue to nourish the Earth and become part of the living Earth. Since in one way you continue to live. Maybe the question should be is there a seperate part of you a spirit if you will that is conscious after you die. Still Totally ADD

Governing Body trying to control marital relationships

i say it's innapropriate because i think it's wrong to tell happy married couples how to love each other and much more wrong it is to tell them they should love their children less.. he said: "mothers, who should you love more your children or your husband?

" i think most mothers will quickly say you should love your children more.

LongHairGal I know where you are coming from and I know elders don't have any training in these matters. But we need to remember those who did were mostly ones who came from very abusive backgrounds due to the Borgs policies. I give you one example that has always stuck in my mind only because I could see how much it effected their marriage. The problem was the husband a born-in was fear stricken to have sex with his wife because he was taught throughout his childhood how bad sex was and God would kill him if he engaged in it. He knew being married it was OK to have sex with his wife but was so gulit ridden he had problems preforming. It was a very sad story. I did suggest to them to go to a doctor for help. Whether they did or not I don't know.

This just goes to show you how Cults like the WT damage marital relationships. Still Totally ADD

JWs and Guns.

i was told shooting guns and collecting them was not something a jw should do.

when i lived way up north us it was more of a deer hunting group and so some guns were ok, when i moved to florida it was different.

most people in the hall were not hunters.

blownaway years ago in West coast congregation in FL a group of elders would go out to the Rockie mountains and go hunting for big game. It would cost them a fortune to do this yearly event. When ask why they would say they did it for the meat. Since all of them were well off it made no sense to me why they did this but to get away from their wives and families for a week. I also remember their was some complaints about brothers going fishing. All of this was overlooked by the CO and other hogher ups. I figured to each his own on this matter.

Living on 10 acres in a swampy area of FL you needed a gun for all those water moccasins crawling around. Lol. Still Totally ADD
